Description
Tension Control Training 2 (TCT 2) (Female voice)
Tension Control Training (TCT) is a self-help relaxation method that was designed by Dr Philip Snaith at the University of Leeds to enable people to learn control over anxiety. Anxiety is a condition that is very common and few people allow themselves the time to begin to overcome it.
The approach will only work if the person wishes to learn the skill of controlling anxiety and is prepared to work at it steadily and regularly over several weeks. There are no shortcuts to learning this new skill. It is therefore very important that you make up your mind whether you want to apply yourself to learn to control your anxiety in this way,
Ultimately it is only through practice that improvement will occur.

After clicking the link on most computers the audio file will automatically start to play in whatever software your computer usually uses to play MP3 files.
If nothing happens:
1). Sometimes firewalls in NHS Trusts block audio from playing (to prevent staff playing music – in which case the file should be downloaded from a home computer- or in liaison with your Trust IT staff.
2). Some computers (not many these days but some NHS computers deliberately do this) may not have sound cards or speakers fitted. In which case again either use another e.g. home computer, or speak to your IT department
3). If the file fails to play it may be you need to load some audio playing software. If you don’t have software to play the file something that is free is Windows media player – available from lots of places on the web e.g. the main Microsoft site at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx
Saving the audio files: This varies between software packages and variously may be under:
– File/save as
– Or a button e.g. copy or transfer to device
– Or a button Burn to CD etc
There are so many different software packages out there that its really impossible to advise exactly how your own will need to save the sound file. There should be help files on your player programme (e.g. windows media player) to allow this.
Broken links: You have set time period and set number of times (5) that you can download the file. Very occasionally there is an error in the path (see above). Please contact us and we will reform the link – or if problems continue provide you with a fresh link.
Out of time: The files need to be downloaded within 14 days. If you find this is not long enough (e.g. you are on holiday etc) please contact us at admin@fiveareas.com and we will reform the links
