How to use this Resource
This is a series of online books and linked worksheets that can be used in flexible ways by students at university or college.
The books teach CBT-based life skills and include text, case examples, self rating and self response questions that encourage people to work out why they feel as they do and how to make changes. For use by by students in further or higher education.
The core content covers many of the key CBT-based skills and the reader is encourage to read the starting out and understanding booklets first and then read additional booklets that are relevant to them. We recommend you read and put into practice each book in approximately one week.
Using the worksheets: practical worksheets can be completed by printing them on paper, or by answering the questions electronically directly into the online pages.
Working with a support worker: Some people using this course may be receiving additional support from a health, social care or voluntary sector worker. It is suggested you inform and show them the available resources and discuss how they might helpfully complement – the support already being received.
Supporter's Notes
This online resource can be used alone or with support from a supporter/teacher/coach or practitioner.
How to provide access to clients: Practitioners/supporters can deliver the resource by purchasing single use log in codes individually to pass to your patients/clients. Dr Chris Williams is Emeritus Professor of Psychosocial Psychiatry at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and Past-President of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). His main area of interest is making Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches accessible to all.
He is an internationally recognised researcher, teacher and trainer.
Course development: The content has been developed by Professor Chris Williams and includes feedback from a student health project in Catalonia (Spain). Spanish and Catalan versions of the books and worksheets are available.
