Five Areas Limited recognises the importance of making its digital services available to the largest possible audience and has attempted to design each of their websites (“Site) to be accessible by everyone. This Site was coded to comply with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. AA Standard. Users who wish to view these specifications can do so at: https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG10/
We are committed to making all of our Internet documents accessible to everyone. To ensure that we meet or exceed the recognised requirements we continually review our Site and modify pages to remove accessibility problems for people with disabilities. We are developing more documents on our web pages in ASCII or HTML format, accessible to people who use screen reading software and to those with other vision or mobility impairments.
Currently, our Site also contains documents in Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format) files; many people who use screen reading devices can`t read them. To solve that problem, Adobe Systems, Inc. is developing several products designed to make PDF documents more accessible to screen reading software. Adobe`s accessibility web pages (https://access.adobe.com/) describe their efforts.
Difficulty reading?
1). Try accessing the course using a browser on a smart TV – the added screen should help make the text size e.g. of books and worksheets easier to use
2). The course video versions include video- but also narration that teaches the key skills.
3). Try the audio-visual modules and focus on learning using the audio
4). Pdf versions: We have made available shortened versions of the booklet content for many of the key books at https://llttf.com/resources/llttf-information-leaflets
These can be read using a pdf reader. However, for copyright reasons we unfortunately can’t provide the pdfs of the full books.
6). For a cost we can print and post you large print black and white versions of many of our online books for individuals who have paid to upgrade the course.
6). The books are available as kindle and apple books both of which have accessibility functions – see www.llttf.com/ebooks.
7). Upcoming: We have a new version of our platform in development which should allow screens to be expanded/magnified on mobile devices.
Difficulty hearing:
1). We recommend using our book versions of the course.
2). Upcoming: We are exploring adding closed captioning to our videos but this is unfortunately not available as yet.
Although we cannot guarantee that all users regardless of disability can access our information or services, we are committed to helping any user who cannot access our information who will be offered assistance by our staff to do so.
