A one‑hour practical workshop for adults who avoid the dentist
A supportive and practical one‑hour online workshop designed to help adults overcome dental anxiety and finally feel able to attend a dental appointment with confidence.
Join our expert team online for one hour and learn how to:
- Get yourself to the dentist – practical steps for reducing anticipatory anxiety and overcoming avoidance.
- Sit in the dental chair calmly and with confidence – strategies to manage physical tension, worry and panic.
- Cope with numbing injections – learn evidence‑based CBT methods to handle the fear of needles and sensations of anaesthetic.
- Manage a dental cleaning / scale and polish – understand what to expect and how to stay calm through unfamiliar sounds and sensations.
- Feel prepared for a filling – discover techniques to manage uncertainty, discomfort, and dental drills.
- Build confidence for future appointments – develop personalised coping plans you can use before and during visits.
What’s included:
- One hour of expert training
- Practical CBT‑based skills you can use immediately
- Worksheets designed to help you practise and plan your own dental‑confidence steps
- Expert Q&A – submit questions anonymously in advance if you prefer
- You will also gain access to the companion online book you can review and apply for the next 12 months.
What to expect:
During this workshop, Professor Chris Williams will guide you through compassionate, easy‑to‑use techniques to help reduce fear, regain control, and feel ready for real dental treatment scenarios including injections, cleanings, and fillings.
Cameras on or off – entirely your choice.
You can attend live and work through the practical worksheets during the session, or return to them afterwards to build your own step‑by‑step plan.
